Legislator of the Year 2022

The Michigan Fraternal Order of Police recognizes that Michigan has some great legislators who stand with Law Enforcement and the selection of our Legislator of the Year Award can be an extremely difficult decision. This year, we recognize PD and awarded two State Representatives.

State Representative Timmy Beson (R-96th District) sponsored and championed HB 4821 which was signed into law making the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Commission a permanent Commission who will forever honor the fallen officers in Michigan.  Click to Read the Law.

State Representative Matt Koleszar (D-20th District) sponsored and championed HB 4247 which was signed into law amending the Police & Fire Fighters Survivor Tuition Act to remove the strings that prevented never every survivor from not qualifying. This law now does what it was intended to do, provide support and assistance to the children of Michigans Fallen. Click to Read the Law

A big thank you to both representatives and all of those who continue to work to protect Michigans Law Enforcement Community.
