The Michigan Fraternal Order of Police was formed in 1939 and is proud to be one of Michigan’s largest and oldest law enforcement organizations. We have a membership of over 10,000 members organized in 54 lodges located throughout the State. The F.O.P. is recognized as the VOICE of law enforcement in Michigan.
Through our Foundation, a registered 501c3 non-profit, we focus on several areas including backpacks for kids, providing at-risk kids with a backpack full of school supplies; Cops & Kids, the official shop with a cop program in which at-risk and less fortunate kids are paired with a police officer and together they go holiday shopping, and officer assistance, which provides support through financial, mental, or physical support for police officers, and their families following a line of duty death, or a permanent disability. This support may include creating and providing handicap access to their home, financial support for bills, up to and including providing access to counseling services.
